Entering Argentina with Pets and other Animals

The Consulate does not participate in the procedures for entering Argentina with pets or other animals. The information below serves as guidance for the interested party to contact the relevant institutions.

In Argentina, the authority responsible for the entry of animals accompanied by their owners is SENASA, so one must follow their instructions as outlined on their relevant website.

In the United States, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides specific information on their corresponding website.

In summary, SENASA requires a zoosanitary certificate and a vaccination certificate issued by U.S. veterinarians, with these documents certified by U.S. authorities. Animals meeting these requirements will not be subject to quarantine. In case of suspicion of an infectious disease, SENASA will take measures to isolate the animal.

Observations regarding non-pet animals:

For information on regulations regarding the introduction of exotic domestic animals, please contact SENASA (National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality) through their portal's contact page.
