Argentine Citizenship

Children of native Argentine citizens can opt to obtain the Argentine citizenship. For those who would like to do it at the Consulate of Argentina in Atlanta, a prior notice must be requested to the following email catla@mrecic.gov.ar or by telephone at 404 880 0805 internal 103.

 

If you are under 18 years of age

Necessary documentation:

  • • Original birth certificate with the apostille of the state or country in which the applicant was born.
  • • Original birth certificate of native Argentine father / mother. (Make sure it’s the “Acta de Nacimiento”. The “Certificado de Nacimiento” is not valid.)
  • • Argentine ID of the father / mother (If one of the parents is not Argentine, the passport must be presented instead).

 

If you are over 18 years of age

Parent’s consent won’t be required and their presence won’t be necessary in order to obtain the Argentine citizenship at the Consulate.

Necessary documentation:

  • • Original birth certificate with the apostille of the state or country in which the applicant was born.
  • • Original birth certificate of native Argentine father / mother. (Make sure it’s the “Acta de Nacimiento”. The “Certificado de Nacimiento” is not valid.)
  • • Argentine ID of the father / mother (If one of the parents is not Argentine, the passport must be presented instead).
  • • Passport of the applicant.
